Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scores 2nd highest individual score for India U19 in Youth ODI history

In the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2026 Final, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi not only recorded the highest score in the U19 Cricket World Cup Final but also recorded the second-highest score by an Indian in Youth ODI history.

During the Final of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2026 between India U19 and England U19 at Harare on Friday (February 6), Indian opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi created history. The left-handed opening batter not only recorded the highest score in the U19 Cricket World Cup Final but also recorded the second-highest score by an Indian in Youth ODI history.

After India U19 chose to bat first in the Final, the Indian opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made the English bowlers clueless as he produced his best knock of the tournament for the Final. The left-handed opening batter not only scored his fourth 50+ score in the tournament, but also completed his first century in the competition in 55 balls, the second fastest century in the tournament's history. 

Later, Vaibhav completed 150 runs in just 71 balls, as he became the first batter to score 150+ runs in the U19 Cricket World Cup Final. The previous highest score was 111 not out by Unmukt Chand (India U19) against Australia U19 during the 2012 edition Final.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored 175 off 80 balls, slammed 15 fours and 15 sixes

Before losing his wicket in the 26th over, where India U19 scored 251/3 at his dismissal, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi slammed 175 off just 80 balls with the help of 15 fours and 15 sixes. It was the highest score by an Indian in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup history, beating the previous record of 162 not out by Raj Bawa against Uganda U19 in the 2022 edition. Meanwhile, Vaibhav beat his own record to set a new record for the second-highest score by an Indian in the Youth ODIs.
