Addressing this, Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag expressed his surprise at the youngster’s performance. Sooryavanshi scored 52 runs off just 17 balls, recording the second-fastest fifty for the franchise in IPL history. His powerful knock played a big role in the Rajasthan Royals’ comfortable eight-wicket win over CSK.

Not only Parag, but also Dhruv Jurel was impressed while watching from the pavilion. He said the team has been encouraging Sooryavanshi to play with freedom and use his time at the crease well. Jurel added that it is exciting to have a fearless and match-winning player like him in the squad.

Suryavanshi’s Explosive Knock Seals Easy Win for RR

Chasing a target of 128, Vaibhav Suryavanshi played an outstanding innings and removed all pressure from his opening partner, Yashasvi Jaiswal. He scored 52 runs from just 17 balls, hitting four boundaries and five big sixes. His strike rate of 305.88 made the chase very easy, as Rajasthan Royals won the match in only 12.1 overs with eight wickets in hand.

With this innings, the RR opener reached his fifty in just 15 balls and joined a special group of players. He now shares the record for the third-fastest fifty in IPL history with players like Yusuf Pathan, Sunil Narine, Nicholas Pooran, and Jake Fraser-McGurk. The fastest fifty in IPL history is by Yashasvi Jaiswal in 13 balls, followed by KL Rahul, Pat Cummins, and Romario Shepherd, who reached the mark in 14 balls.

Parag Backs Suryavanshi After Match-Winning Knock

After the Rajasthan Royals’ strong eight-wicket win over Chennai in Barsapara Cricket Stadium, captain Riyan Parag spoke about Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He said he has already told the young player that he will play all 14 matches and should not worry about outside noise.

“What I tell him is that you’re going to play 14 games, and regardless of what goes on in the game, it shouldn’t bother you. What goes around in the media shouldn’t bother you,” Parag said.

The captain also said that both he and Dhruv Jurel were very impressed with Suryavanshi’s batting. “I’m really happy to have him in my team,” he added.

Parag, who became captain after Sanju Samson moved to Chennai Super Kings, said the team is supporting Suryavanshi in every way. He explained this further in the press conference. “The message to Vaibhav is to not think too much about what is going on outside. He likes to bat, so we make sure he gets ample batting practice. He likes to eat, so we make sure he has ample food.”

He also shared how he and Jurel reacted while watching Suryavanshi bat. “Dhruv (Jurel) and I were sitting and watching him bat, wondering what had happened with the wicket as it was a little sticky, with some moisture. Like everyone in the stands, we also had this feeling of ‘wow’, wondering how he is able to do this. He is a talent, and I am very glad that he is in our team, and not the opponent’s,” Parag said.
