Rajasthan Royals’ unbeaten run in the Indian Premier League 2026 came to an end on Monday. In match 21, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated RR by 57 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal on April 13. SRH scored 216 runs, and RR were bowled out for 159. Ishan Kishan played an important innings and scored a quick fifty, which helped SRH put up a big total.

This loss means RR are no longer unbeaten, and now only the Punjab Kings remain unbeaten in IPL 2026. SRH, who had struggled earlier in the season, made important changes to their bowling attack. The experienced players like Jaydev Unadkat and Harshal Patel had not performed well, so the team gave a chance to new players Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain. Both players had a dream debut and bowled very well, taking 8 wickets and helping the team defend the total.

Hinge and Sakib played a major role in bowling out RR for 159. Their strong performance showed that SRH’s decision to trust young players worked well. The match felt like a fresh start for SRH, as they looked more confident in both batting and bowling. Their overall team effort was much better compared to earlier matches.

Fans reacted positively to SRH’s dominant win. Many praised the team’s strong batting, bowling, and the impact made by the debut players. At the same time, some fans were concerned about RR’s performance. They pointed out the team’s poor batting, including Vaibhav’s early dismissal, and the inconsistent form of other players. Fans felt that RR needed to improve quickly to stay strong in the tournament.

Key moments that defined the SRH vs RR clash

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and chose to bowl first against Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH had a poor start as Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for 0 on the very first ball of the match. After this early setback, captain Ishan Kishan and Travis Head steadied the innings and added quick runs. SRH reached 51 for 1 at the end of the powerplay.

After the powerplay, RR captain Riyan Parag brought himself into the attack and dismissed Head for 18 runs off 18 balls. Kishan continued his strong form and scored a quick fifty in just 30 balls, taking SRH past 100. He played a brilliant innings of 91 runs off 44 balls before getting out to Sandeep Sharma, missing his century by just 9 runs. Heinrich Klaasen then played a fast knock of 40 runs off 11 balls but was dismissed by Tushar Deshpande. Nitish Kumar Reddy added 28 runs off 13 balls before being dismissed by Jofra Archer. In the final overs, Sanvir Singh (24* off 13) and Aniket Verma (6 off 5) added important runs, helping SRH post a strong total of 216 for 6.

In reply, RR had a terrible start. SRH debutant Praful Hinge took three wickets in his first over, dismissing Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel and Lhuan-dre Pretorius, all for zero. In the next over, another debutant, Sakib Hussain, dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal for 1. Hinge then removed Parag for 4, reducing RR to 9 for 5 in just three overs.

After the early collapse, Ravindra Jadeja and Donovan Ferreira tried to rebuild the innings with a 50-run partnership. Ferreira played an important knock and scored his maiden IPL fifty in 31 balls. He made 69 runs off 44 balls before being dismissed by Sakib Hussain in the 15th over. Jadeja scored 45 runs off 32 balls but was later dismissed by Eshan Malinga, leaving RR at 129 for 7.

Sakib Hussain continued his strong debut and took more wickets, dismissing Jofra Archer (2) and Ravi Bishnoi (0), finishing with four wickets. In the end, Eshan Malinga dismissed Tushar Deshpande for 25 runs off 11 balls, and RR were all out for 159. SRH secured a convincing 57-run victory with a strong all-round performance.
