The India vs Australia white ball series is scheduled to start on October 19. The series will begin with a 3-match ODI series followed by a 5-match T20I.. As Virat and Sharma retired from T20Is and Test cricket, they will only participate in the ODI series. Both of the batters last featured for India during the Champions Trophy 2025, where India encrypted history by winning the trophy.
After taking retirement from Test cricket ahead of the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy, Virat moved to London. According to reports, Bronco Test, a fitness trail for the cricketers, which conducted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Virat was the only player who took part in the Test outside India. There are no concerns about his fitness; it will be interesting to see how the batting maestro performs against Australia, in Australia.

Virat last played his One Day International match back on March 9, 2025, against New Zealand, in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. It was a remarkable run for the Men in Blue. Both Sharma and Kohli were instrumental figures behind India's Champions Trophy 2025 triumph. Almost after 6 months, Rohit and Virat will be playing for India.
Virat looked in great shape as usual and arrived at the airport with full security and cheers from the fans as well. Former cricketers also have high hopes about his performance against Australia. This series will be a great rehearsal for Team India ahead of the ICC ODI World Cup.
