Virat Kohli has stirred concern among fans after a recent picture of him surfaced online on Friday. The Indian cricket icon was spotted in London with a man named Shash Kiran, though his identity remains unverified. What truly caught fans' attention was Kohli’s visibly greying beard, making him look almost unrecognisable. At 36 and approaching 37, the noticeable change in appearance has surprised many on social media. His transformation has sparked discussions and speculation, especially considering how youthful Kohli usually appears in public.

This sighting comes less than a month after Kohli’s last public appearance at Yuvraj Singh’s YouWeCan Foundation event on July 10. During that event, Kohli addressed his decision to step away from Test cricket, marking an emotional moment for his fans. Now, with this drastic change in appearance, concerns are growing over whether Kohli is contemplating his future in limited-overs cricket as well. His grey beard, age, and recent silence have fueled speculations of an upcoming ODI retirement, adding to the emotional wave among his followers. Kohli jokingly remarked that he had coloured his beard recently and hinted at ageing, suggesting it's a sign when one needs to dye their beard every few days, sparking speculation online.

 "I just coloured my beard two days ago. You know it's time when you are colouring your beard every four days," Kohli said during the event.

Here is how Twitter reacted to it;

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to retire from ODI cricket

India’s white-ball tour of Sri Lanka has been cancelled, causing a significant delay in the international return of senior players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Both players, who have retired from Tests and T20Is, now only feature in ODIs, and the cancellation further limits their match opportunities. In another setback, the BCCI and the Bangladesh Cricket Board have mutually agreed to postpone India's August 2025 tour to Bangladesh until September 2026. The decision stems from growing diplomatic tensions and security concerns, further disrupting India’s international calendar for the year.

With these changes, Kohli and Rohit are now expected to return to international cricket only in October 2025, when India hosts Australia for a three-match ODI series. Their next engagement will be a five-match T20I series starting on October 29, leaving them with very limited on-field preparation before major global tournaments. This gap in competitive play has raised concerns among fans, especially given the players’ pivotal roles and reduced involvement in international cricket following their format retirements.
