India’s former captain and star batter, Virat Kohli, returned to India since the end of the IPL 2025 to fly to Australia for the upcoming three-match ODI series from October 19 at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Upon his arrival in Delhi, Kohli joined the Indian side and reached Australia on October 16. However, before taking the flight, Kohli took a major step that sparked a new speculation.

The Delhi-born has transferred the power of attorney for his Gurugram property to his elder brother, Vikas Kohli. The experienced batter visited the Wazirabad tehsil office to complete the legal process and register the General Power of Attorney (GPA) in his brother’s name. During this visit, the Indian batter interacted with the staff and posed for photos, besides giving autographs to the fans in the office.

The formalities were completed in the afternoon as Kohli left for the airport straight from the office to meet the Blue Brigade. The reports have claimed that the move has been made by the batter, who recently shifted to England with his family and wanted to ensure that the legal responsibilities would proceed smoothly.

The officials at the tehsil have described Kohli’s visit as a memorable experience, as it took nearly an hour to complete the required paperwork. The registered document grants Vikas full authority to handle all the property-related matters on Virat’s behalf. It’s a sign for him to spend more time with his family in England.

Kohli, along with Rohit Sharma, will be back for the Blue Brigade for the first time since the final of the Champions Trophy 2025 against New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. He aims to be fit and in rhythm for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2027 in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.

Kohli is currently the third leading run-getter in ODIs with the help of 14181 runs in 290 innings at an average of 57.88 and a strike rate of 93.34. He has celebrated 51 centuries and 74 half-centuries at the best of 183 runs.
