Virat Kohli's ODI career end? Ajit Agarkar's recent action reflects BCCI's intention

In a recent development, BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar got in touch with Virat Kohli. As per the latest information, the board has prepared some plans for both Virat and Rohit Sharma, who were already retired from Tests and T20Is. 

According to the latest updates, Agarkar got in touch with Virat recently. The reason behind Agarkar's initiation to get in touch with the batter is communication. Between the player and the board, there could be a possible lack of communication, which puts the selectors in a dilemma about the star batter's future plan. BCCI wanted to know Virat's thoughts about his international career. After retirement from T20Is and ODIs, Virat is now only available for 50-over matches. But from when would he like to represent his nation? The question remains.

For preparations, amid the Asia Cup 2025, players who are not with India's T20I setup are participating in matches against the Australia A team. Australia A is in India for a multiple-format series. After a series of unofficial tests, India A and Australia A will play limited-over matches. BCCI might have a plan to ask whether Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli would like to join India A for preparations. According to claims, the team management wanted Rohit Sharma and Kohli to play in India A's 50-over series versus Australia A.

Ajit Agarkar got in touch with Virat to know his plans

A few days ago, BCCI conducted the Bronco Test to measure fitness levels of players. It was known that both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma passed the test and proved their fitness levels. It was then also claimed that, at the age of 36, Virat performed brilliantly in the fitness test. 

After the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, India will play against the West Indies for a two-match Test series and then an ODI series for the Men in Blue. From the middle of October, India and Australia will play a 3-match ODI series. There can be a chance to see Rohit and Virat again in Team India colors.
