'Virat Kohli's white beard is natural' - Former RCB player backs India legend to play 2027 ODI World Cup

Star India batter Virat Kohli retired from the T20Is after winning the T20 World Cup 2024. He also announced his retirement from Tests after the finish of Border Gavaskar trophy 2024-25. He is currently active in only one format and that is one day internationals. He was last seen playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2025 and he lifted the trophy along with the team for the maiden time.

Fans are eagerly waiting for Virat to be back in the India jersey and the upcoming Australia tour could be the one. Recently a picture of Virat Kohli donning a white beard went viral. People started rumors that the star India batter is getting old and is not in fine touch. But former RCB pacer, Navdeep Saini has said that it is a natural thing for Virat to don the white beard. He also added that Virat will be same as he was in the previous editions of tournaments and he backed the player to play the 2027 World Cup.

“The beard turning white is a natural thing, the player will remain the same as he is & I feel that Kohli will play the 2027 World Cup,” said Saini speaking with Sports Yaari. 

Rohit and Virat will not feature in Asia Cup

For the unversed Virat Kohli along with his family is in England. He was recently seen practicing at the Lords stadium. A picture of him went viral from the practice sessions. He's not included in the Asia cup squad as this time around the Asia cup tournament is conducted in T20 format.

As he has retired from the format he won't be playing the tournament. The same goes for Rohit Sharma, who also announced the retirement from T20Is and Tests. He will only be seen playing for India in ODI format in the upcoming Australia tour.
