However, at the end of the night, it was a pleasing moment for Virat Kohli, who won his second successive title of the league, putting himself in the history books with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Mumbai Indians (MI) players who did it in 2010-2011 and 2019-2020 periods.

It was during the chase of the RCB side when Venkatesh Iyer smashed the ball to the cover fielder, Sai Sudharsan, who tried to throw the ball to the striker’s end as Kohli was out of his crease. He was also trying to sledge the former Indian captain to create pressure.

Put into bat first, the Titans posted a below-average score of 155 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Washington Sundar celebrated a fine knock of 50 runs off 37 balls with the help of five boundaries, while the other batters got the starts but couldn’t convert them to a big score.
Both Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood picked up two wickets each, while Rasikh Dar Salam bagged 3/27 in his four overs at an economy rate of below seven.

RCB completed the chase by five wickets with two overs to spare. India's star performer Kohli remained unbeaten on 75 runs off 42 balls at a strike rate of nearly 180, thanks to nine boundaries and three sixes as his last-ball six took them over the finishing line.
