Watch: Virat Kohli smashes Kagiso Rabada for five successive boundaries during GT vs RCB clash in IPL 2026
Virat Kohli smashes the pacer Kagiso Rabada for five consecutive boundaries in the second over of the GT vs RCB encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) returned to the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad a year after celebrating their maiden title of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as they prepared themselves for the league stage fixture against the Gujarat Titans, who had been hot and cold in this edition.
The home captain, Shubman Gill, won the toss and invited the visitors to bat first on a surface which was expected to get better in the second innings in the potential presence of the dew. Defending a total hasn’t been an easy job either at this venue.
Virat Kohli smacks Kagiso Rabada for five successive boundaries in IPL 2026
Virat Kohli took charge against Kagiso Rabada in the second over from the very first ball of the second over. The right-handed batter pulled the short ball over the mid-wicket fielder for a boundary before playing the length delivery on the rise, lofting it over the wide mid-off region for the same result.

The Delhi-born continued the same aggression against the length delivery of the Protea pacer outside the off stump by playing it late and carving it away to the deep point fence. On the fourth delivery, he again carved away the back of the length delivery to the cushion for another four.
The fifth ball of the over was pitched up by the bowler outside the off stump as Kohli creamed it through the covers for the fifth successive boundary. There was no way one could have missed that over of Kohli's class in a fierce battle.
GT makes strong comeback with successive wickets
In the third over of the innings, Gujarat made a strong comeback with the wicket of Jacob Bethell, who flicked the length ball straight into the hands of the mid-wicket fielder. It was a very soft dismissal from the southpaw.
Kohli’s stay in the middle ended soon as he failed to keep the short ball from Rabada down. It ballooned in the air as he got hurried up due to the pace and bounce after advancing down the track. He went back to the hut for 28 runs off 13 balls with five boundaries and one six.
Brief Scores (at the time of writing): RCB- 68/2 (Virat Kohli 28, Mohammed Siraj 1/26) vs GT.
