Abhishek Sharma has been in top touch during the ongoing 2025 season of the Asia Cup, as his fiery knocks were vital in contributing to their victories against Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. India’s decision to bat first in Abu Dhabi against Oman has given him a chance to play a long and memorable knock.
On the very first ball of the innings, the left-handed batter was darted in his legs to get saved from the leg before the stumps. His first boundary of the game came on the first ball of the third over when Abhishek Sharma crouched low and swept Shakeel Ahmed over backward square for a boundary before having him over the cow corner for a fine six.
The most entertaining over of the innings was the fifth one when the left-handed batter threw his bat at Mohammed Nadeem with the bottom hand to slice it over the point region for another boundary. On the fourth delivery of the same over, he bent his knee and picked up the flick over square leg for another four.

On the fifth delivery of the over, the southpaw came down the track and picked the leg-side delivery to flick it over the squad leg region for another four. On the last ball of the power play, the left-handed batter picked up the slower ball and middled it over the long-off region for a six.
A silent over against Sanju Samson on the other end increased the pressure on the southpaw as he looked to chase the wide and short ball from Jiten Ramanandi to get an outside edge into the hands of the wicket-keeper batter. Abhishek got out on 38 runs in 15 balls with the help of five boundaries and two sixes.
India got 60 runs for the loss of Shubman Gill inside the power play in this game. This is the highest score at this venue during the Asia Cup 2025. But they soon lost Hardik Pandya in an unlucky run-out dismissal.
