Watch: Anthony Mosco launches Akeal Hosein for two towering sixes in T20 World Cup 2026

Italy's Anthony Mosco looked in a different form today as he slammed two towering sixes against West Indies' Akeal Hosein in the 37th match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. The match at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata, took a great turn as Italy tried hard to chase down 166 runs in the second innings.

However, West Indies' Shamar Joseph and Matthew Forde pulled back the game in their favor, claiming four and three wickets, respectively. Anthony started the innings with a great spirit, hitting two sixes and a boundary. But fell prey to Akeal Hosein's bowling. He was dismissed on 19 off 12 balls.

The rest of the batters continued striking the ball but failed to stitch partnerships and stay around, which is why they were bowled out for 123 runs. Italy lost the match by 42 runs. They were already eliminated from the tournament, while the West Indies have qualified for the Super 8. The Caribbean nation is unbeaten in the tournament.

West Indies scored 165 runs in the first innings, thanks to Shai Hope's 75 off 46 balls, including six boundaries and four sixes. He wreaked havoc on the Italian bowlers and got limited support from the other end, which is why they couldn't get past 180 runs. Overall, it was a combined effort from both batters and bowlers that helped them win the game. 

West Indies to face India in Super 8 in T20 World Cup 2026

India have qualified for the knockouts from Group A, and they are in the same group as West Indies. Hence, both teams will face each other in the Super 8 stage. They are unbeaten in the tournament, have a solid batting and bowling line-up, making it an interesting contest altogether. 

West Indies will also face South Africa and Sri Lanka in the knockout stage. The matches are going to be super interesting since the squads have talented players and have performed brilliantly throughout the tournament. The upcoming matches will be competitive since the players are in great form and will be looking forward to qualifying for the semi-finals.
