In the Pakistan Super League 2026 (PSL 2026), former Pakistan leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed enraged a debate with the former English player Dominic Cork, where the legendary Pakistan cricketer showed a lack of professionalism on-camera. While the tournament started with massive controversies, it has only added a little more.

Cork called Mushtaq Ahmed was a genius as the leg-spinner could turn the ball both ways. Asking for his view about Aussie leggie Adam Zampa, who was playing for Karachi Kings against Quetta Gladiators on the second day of the PSL 2026, especially for that pitch. However, Mushtaq chose not to answer the question immediately, but went to troll Cork by reminding him how many times he "pocketed" him.

While Cork claimed that the Pakistan spinner dismissed him once, Mushtaq debated it to achieve it many times, as he had great memories about it. The situation became awkward, especially for Cork, as he added that he couldn't bat.

Well, Cork was dismissed only once in international cricket by Mushtaq Ahmed. If the Pakistan leggie rightly calls to dismiss him many times, it could only be possible by adding the domestic cricket performance, while the leggie was a legend for the English county side Sussex, who also served for Somerset and Surrey.

Cork was a modest lower-order batter. While he recorded three half-centuries in Test cricket with his Test career score of 864 runs, his ODI career score of 180 in 21 innings, with the highest score of 31 not out. However, Mushtaq wasn't totally wrong while talking about Cork's batting ability, as the right-handed batter scored 10,114 runs in his first-class career with eight centuries and 54 half-centuries, with his best score 200 not out.

Even in his List A career, Cork scored 4184 runs in 240 innings with 19 half-centuries, including his highest score of 93 runs. While the right-handed batter's first-class batting average was 25.03, his List A batting average was 20.92.

As a right-arm fast bowler, Cork took 989 first-class wickets, including 131 Test wickets, and 382 List A wickets, including 41 ODI wickets, along with 73 T20 wickets.

Mushtaq Ahmed was among greatest leg-spinners

Mushtaq Ahmed has been considered one of the greatest leg-spinners in cricket history. He finished his cricketing career with 1407 first-class wickets, including 185 wickets in Test cricket. Popularly known as "Jadugar," he also recorded 461 List A wickets and 42 T20 wickets, while ending his ODI career with 161 wickets.

How did cricket fans react to Mushtaq Ahmed's response?

There are mixed reactions among the fans who experienced the awkward on-camera discussion between Cork and Mushtaq. However, most of the fans have slammed the Pakistan leg-spinner for his on-camera behaviour.
