Some moments are larger than the dream. When Chennai Super Kings' teenage batter Ayush Mhatre met with 'Cricket God' Sachin Tendulkar, it was a surreal experience for him. With few words, Mhatre expressed how excited he was when he talked with the legendary figure of world cricket.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) recently shared a video where we can see the young cricketer talking about the moment when he received some advice from Sachin. The video was shared before the CSK vs. Rajasthan Royals (RR) match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on the evening of May 20.
The 17-year-old batter shared his feelings during the practice season. Recalling the precious moment, Ayush said, "I can't express my feelings. But he only told me to “play your game and just be yourseldf'.”

It'll be interesting to see how the words from Tendulkar's mouth affect Mhatre's batting performance. CSK and Rajasthan Royals are both out of play-off contention and have nothing to lose from the match. Each cricketer, including Ayush, will like to push the paddle for maximum performance.
Earlier, before CSK shared the video, the Maharashtra-born cricketer had posted a photo with Tendulkar on social media with the caption, “Some moments are bigger than words. Meeting the God of cricket was indeed a surreal feeling. Thank you, @sachintendulkar Sir. Truly blessed!!”
Mhatre joined the CSK camp to replace their injured skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and took very little time to prove his talent. In five IPL 2025 matches so far, he has scored 163 runs at an average of 32.60 with an eye-catching strike rate of 181.11, including a standout 94 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
