Batter misses first attempt before playing hilarious shot.

Cricketing shots can be crazy in the modern era, with the batters finding various ways to nail the big shots around the park to counter the bowlers and their plans. In the past, Sri Lanka’s opening batter, Tillakaratne Dilshan, played the scoop over the wicket-keeper’s head for a boundary, while Ab de Villiers used to shuffle and play the funky shots around the park.

A video has gone viral on social media, which seems to have come from a club cricket match in England. The video shows a left-arm spinner bowling a slow delivery to the right-handed batter, who used his feet to nail the big shot. But he missed the turn and elevation of the ball on the first attempt.

On most occasions, the batter couldn’t have reacted to it. But this was different. He quickly realized the situation and used the back of the blade to nail it over the wicket-keeper’s head. The keeper couldn’t understand the shot as they hilariously completed the single. As expected, the video has gone viral on various platforms.

If one wants to look back at the elegance and perfection, there is hardly anything better than the straight drive of the former Indian captain and the legendary batter, Sachin Tendulkar. The timing was so sweet. Virat Kohli has also opened his school to teach how to play beautiful drives in the cover region, while one doesn’t need to talk much about MS Dhoni’s helicopter shot.

The former West Indies captain, Brian Lara, was renowned for his backfoot punch, while Virender Sehwag used to force power on the short and wide deliveries outside the off-stump to play the square cuts. Virender Sehwag was sound to play the upper cuts.

Kevin Pietersen brought the idea of playing switch hits, where the right-handed batters switch to lefties and vice vice-versa. Glenn Maxwell has grasped the skill of those shots. De Villiers is also incredibly perfect to play the ramp shots along with England’s Jos Buttler.
