Watch the video where the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has shared the glimpse of India's first practice session under lights at the ICC Academy in Dubai ahead of their opening clash of the Asia Cup 2025 on September 10.
Under the captain, Suryakumar Yadav, and the coach, Gautam Gambhir, India started their first practice session under lights in Dubai at the ICC Academy Ground. They went through their very first net session on September 05 before their opening game on September 10 against the UAE at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
“Very excited, obviously. It’s a great group, and the way we have been playing the T20s is nothing short of entertaining. So very excited.” Shubman Gill, India’s Test captain, revealed as posted by the BCCI, while the left-arm pacer, Arshdeep Singh, added, “Lively atmosphere. Day 1 of the practice session. By the start of the first game, the full intensity will come.”

“I have joined the T20 team after a long time. This 3-week window was excellent, and I spent some time at home. Young people and young energy.” India’s premier all-format pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, who returned to the shortest format since the T20 World Cup 2024 final, addressed.

The Indian team, for the very first time, had several veteran players, including Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah, on the ground as they look to defend their Asia Cup title. On the other hand, the speculation continues on who would take the gloves between Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma.
“This time, I took time for my son. Spent a lot of time with him. At the same time, I started my training earlier, and it feels really good to be among the whole bunch of players.” Hardik Pandya added while Shivam Dube shed light, “Exciting atmosphere. The coach has said one thing always, that whenever you play for your national side, you have got something new to do.”
“To have such a brilliant bunch around with unbelievable skill is excellent. I always have a smile on my face whenever I see these boys on the field. They put their body on the line, and that’s what I want them to.” Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian T20I captain, concluded.
