Watch: BCCI unveils India's official jersey for T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka

The former Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, under whom they won the T20 World Cup 2024, beating South Africa in the final at the Kensington Oval in Barbados, unveiled the national team’s new T20I jersey on Wednesday during the mid-innings break of the second ODI in Raipur as he was joined by the current T20I member of the national side, Tilak Verma.

The revealed, staged under the lights at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium, gave the fans their first look at the kit which India will wear as co-hosts for next year’s World Cup. The jersey carries a deep blue base with the vibrant orange panels along the sides. In a key design shift, the tri-color has been moved to the collar with an extra star added on the chest.

“It’s been a long journey. We won our first World Cup in 2007, and we had to wait more than 15 years to win the next one. It’s been a long road with plenty of ups and downs, but it felt great to lift the trophy again. Now, with the World Cup happening in India, it’s going to be an exciting tournament.” Rohit expressed in the jersey launch program.

India has gone through a strong time in the shortest format with no series defeat yet under Suryakumar Yadav. They also won the Asia Cup 2025 recently, along with the five-match T20I series against Australia down under by a margin of 2-1. 

Sky is currently featuring in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025-26 for Mumbai, along with a few more players. Their vice-captain, Shubman Gill, who recently picked up an injury in his neck, joined the BCCI Coe for his recovery session.

The World Cup 2026 will begin on February 07 and end on March 08, with India opening their campaign at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on February 07 against the United States of America. The final will take place either at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad or the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
