What’s the most runs a batter has scored in one delivery? That’s a common question. On many occasions, several former players reckoned that if the batter had smashed the ball out of the stadium, then they should get more than six runs. But is there an occasion where the batter hasn’t even touched the ball, and he still got six runs off that delivery? A video of the funny incident has gone viral.

It seemed to be a club game in the evening where the right-handed batter made room into the off side and looked to charge the fast bowler behind square. But he missed the ball as the wicket-keeper gloves it behind the stumps. The keeper threw the ball, but by the time the ball hit the stumps, the non-striker had already crossed his crease.

With no fielder coming into the delivery, they smelt the double and completed the second run. This time, the bowler went near the ball and threw it back to the bowling end. He missed the target as both batters came back for the third run.

The cover fielder came running in and threw the ball back to the wicket-keeper. Meanwhile, the two batters continued to run between the wickets and had already taken four runs. The rule says that if the ball had already been hit to the stumps on the first occasion, from the second time onwards, a stump will need to be uprooted to get the batter out.

The keeper wasn’t aware of the regulation as he hit the stumps, which didn’t come out of the ground. The batter realized the opportunity and got their fifth run. At last, the fielder again threw the ball and missed the chances. This allowed the batter to take their sixth run.

They could have come back for another run, but the striker seemed to be out of gas as he fell on the ground. It was a funny incident and another example of how important it is to be switched on all the time in the cricket field. Otherwise, these things will keep happening.
