In what can be described as a savage reply, BJP, India’s leading and currently ruling political party, sharply trolled Pakistan speedster Haris Rauf following the India-Pakistan clash in the Asia Cup Super Four round. The trolling came after Rauf faced backlash for his infamous 6-0 celebration and gesture during the match, which had already drawn strong reactions from the Indian crowd.

BJP’s official social media handle posted a video highlighting Rauf’s gesture, showing India’s Rafale planes flying and then crashing as he indicated Pakistan’s fighter jets shooting them down. The video opened with Rauf’s hand gesture, and as it “crashed,” it was montaged with footage of a bombing in Pakistan recorded by a civilian on mobile. The caption read, “Rauf showed what he saw,” followed by, “What is he trying to show?” as the bombing clip played, ending with credits stating, “Directed by Indian Armed Forces.”

The trolling coincided with India’s emphatic 6-wicket win over Pakistan, chasing a target of 172 with 7 balls to spare.
Rauf himself took 2 wickets while giving away 26 runs from 4 overs. Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill starred with the bat, while Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan provided a composed innings to post a competitive total.
