Watch: Brand ambassador Rohit Sharma reveals official promo for T20 World Cup 2026

Rohit Sharna, who was named the brand ambassador of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka, beginning on the first week of February next year, by the ICC chairman Jay Shah during the announcement of the schedule of the event, revealed the official promo of the ICC competition as the video went viral around social media platforms.

Rohit, who won the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the United States of America against South Africa in the final at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. He appeared in all nine of the previous editions of the event, with the inaugural season in 2007 when India won the title under MS Dhoni’s leadership.

Rohit was the leading run-getter with 257 runs in the previous season at a strike rate of 156.70 and announced his retirement from the format just after the victory over the Proteas in the final. In all, he appeared in 47 matches across the nine editions of the World Cup and aggregated 1220 runs at a strike rate of 133.04 and an average of 34.86.

India, under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, will head into the competition as the favorites and will play the opening game against the United States of America. They will announce their squad for the ICC event on December 20 through a press conference at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai.

Under Sky, India has not lost a single T20I series, which includes the ongoing South Africa series, which they were leading after the first four games by a 2-1 margin. He hopes to retain the same success against New Zealand at home, just before the T20 World Cup campaign.
