Watch: “Can’t replicate…”- Jemimah Rodrigues leaks Virat Kohli’s view on his MCG knock vs Pakistan in T20 WC 2022
The veteran batter of India's Women's Cricket Team, Jemimah Rodrigues, has leaked the view of Virat Kohli on the later's special knock against Pakistan at the iconic MCG from the T20 World Cup 2022.

The Indian batter of women’s cricket, Jemimah Rodrigues, has reviewed the special knock from Virat Kohli, which took place during the T20 World Cup 2022 at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) against Pakistan. The Delhi batter smashed an unbeaten knock of 82 runs in 53 balls at a strike rate of 154.72 to complete the 160-run chase by four wickets.
Jemimah Rodrigues, who herself nailed a fine knock of unbeaten 127 runs to complete the massive chase of 341 runs against Australia in the Women’s World Cup 2025 in Navi Mumbai, shed light on the special Kohli knock and the latter’s mindset.
“You know Virat once talked about it, and I asked him about the Melbourne knock. And I was like, that knock was something else. It was a crazy knock. So, I asked what was going on in your head? How did such a knock happen? And what he told me after that was, ‘You know, Jemi, even if I want to take credit for that knock, I can’t.” Rodrigues expressed on ‘Breakfast with Champions.’

Kohli was superb in that clash as India kept losing wickets as the chase became tricky against the Pakistan bowling. Moreover, there was pressure on the arch-rivals and the World Cup, which was the same situation for Rodrigues against Australia in the World Cup semifinal.

“He said, ‘If you ask me to replicate that knock again, I can’t. I was just grateful that God selected me in that moment to be that person to take the team home.’ And then, when the World Cup (Women’s World Cup 2025) happened (in the semifinal in Mumbai), I also felt the same.” Rodrigues expressed in that video on ‘Breakfast with Champions.’
The Mumbai-born will now shift her focus to the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026, where she will lead the Delhi Capitals and hope to get one step further from their runners-up finish from the last two editions of the tournament.
