Watch the video where the Indian pacer, Deepak Chahar, recalled how the former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain, MS Dhoni, scolded the bowler in the IPL 2019 as the video goes viral in social media.
In the recent season of the Big Boss, Deepak Chahar looked back on the moment from 2019 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) when they were playing against the Punjab Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. It was that game when MS Dhoni went hard after the young pacer for not following his advice.
CSK posted 160/3 in their 20 overs of the first innings. Sarfaraz Khan, who made 67 in 59 balls at a strike rate of 113.56 with the help of four boundaries and two sixes, was batting well, and the Indian pacer got the job to bowl in the death overs.

“In that game, for the very first time, I was bowling at the death. Before that, I had the responsibility of bowling with the new ball. So after lots of consideration, Mahi bhai threw me the ball in the death, and Sarfaraz was the batter. In the preparation, we discussed the type of deliveries we need to bowl to a certain batter. The plan was to bowl a slow delivery, and I went with a leg cutter.” Chahar expressed in the Big Boss show.

Chahar was excellent with the ball in that season and finished as the third leading wicket-taker. He collected 22 wickets in 17 innings at an average of around 22 at an economy rate of under seven.
“Now, my feet stopped on the first ball, and it went full toss. So, he smashed a four, and it ended up being a no-ball. The plan was right, but the execution was wrong. So, I repeated the same ball and it was again a no-ball. Eight runs came without a ball being bowled. Now, Mahi Bhai came furiously and said something to me.” The Indian pacer noted.
“Mahi bhai said that ‘you are not dumb; I am the one who trusted you.’ I thought that this was the last time I got the chance to bowl in the death overs. In the same five balls, I gave away five runs and picked up a wicket. We won the game at the end.” Chahar concluded.
