Watch: Dipendra Airee celebrates 50 with massive six in WI vs NEP T20 World Cup 2026 clash
The right-handed middle-order batter of the Nepal side, Dipendra Singh Airee, has celebrated fine half-century with a massive six during the T20 World Cup 2026 clash against West Indies in Mumbai.

After a heartbreaking start to the T20 World Cup 2026 campaign against England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Nepal slipped ominously against Italy at the same venue on the previous afternoon clash as they looked to gain some momentum for the development of their cricket against West Indies at the same venue for their morning clash in this tournament.
And it did not start as they perhaps anticipated, with them continuing to lose wickets and not getting runs at all with the bat. The Asian side lost six wickets for just 73 runs on the board in 15 overs and were in a position to get bundled out under 100 runs before playing their allotted 20 overs of the innings. Matthew Forde was excellent with the ball.
However, their middle-order batter, Dipendra Singh Airee, made a massive contribution with the bat. On the second ball of the 12th over, the right-handed batter made excellent use of the feat and reached to the pitch of the ball to deposit the delivery into the stands with a lofted shot over the long-off region.

In the penultimate over of the innings, the right-handed batter got a standing ovation for his half-century as the entire crowd stood on their feet after the batter uppercutted the short delivery against Samar Joseph over the short third band region to celebrate his half-century.

He finished the work with another stick as he picked the lane delivery and smoked it over the Midwest Region after getting down on one leg as the ball sailed into a deep region over the stands. He became only the second batter for Nepal to get individual 50-plus scores in the T20 World Cup history as they ended up with 133/8.
West Indies made a very cautious start to the chase before runs started to flow after Shimron Hetmyer made his entry into the crease. A defeat for Nepal will put the eliminated button officially beside their name, while a win for the West Indies will take them through to the Super 8 stage.
Brief Scores: Nepal 133/8 (Dipendra Singh Airee 58, Jason Holder 4/27, Matthew Forde 1/10) vs West Indies 94/1 (Shimron Hetmyer 43*, Nadan Yadav 1/18)
