Emotional Harmanpreet Kaur breaks in joyful tears during Women's World Cup 2025 semifinal.

When Australia posted 338 runs in the first innings of the Women’s World Cup 2025 semifinal against India at the Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, many wondered if the hosts would be able to chase the target down. However, there was a huge amount of dew, making the conditions incredibly tough for the fielders and the bowlers to hold the ball and plan accordingly.

The Blue Brigade lost their 21-year-old, Shafali Varma, for 10 runs in five balls with the help of two boundaries. Smriti Mandhana also couldn’t convert her start into a big score before the captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, put up a special partnership of 167 runs in 156 balls for the third wicket with Jamimah Rodrigues. The former got out for 88 runs in 89 balls, but Rodrigues stayed there till the end.
