Watch: Former KKR batter picks India's all-time T20I stars overlooking Suryakumar Yadav amid T20 WC 2026
Former KKR batter Aakash Chopra picked India’s all-time T20I stars and overlooked Suryakumar Yadav. He praised Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli for their match-winning skills in T20 cricket.

During the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026, former India opener Aakash Chopra shared his pick for India’s all-time T20I superstar. He said it is not Suryakumar Yadav or Yuvraj Singh.
In a rapid-fire session on ESPNCricinfo, Chopra chose Indian stars based on their impact, consistency, and ability to perform in important T20I moments. He was asked to pick the best in a head-to-head between legends and modern stars.
Chopra picked legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh over players like Virender Sehwag, Suresh Raina, Gautam Gambhir, and Yusuf Pathan. He said Yuvraj Singh’s match-winning ability in T20 cricket makes him stand out, and his two World Cup wins add to his greatness.

Yuvraj Singh Tops the List
Aakash Chopra said Yuvraj Singh is India’s best T20I player. He likes Yuvraj for his big shots and ability to finish games under pressure. Yuvraj was ahead of other legends like Virender Sehwag, Suresh Raina, Gautam Gambhir, and Yusuf Pathan.
Next was former captain MS Dhoni. Dhoni is calm, skilled, and experienced. He is a great finisher and wicketkeeper. But Chopra said Yuvraj is slightly better.
Modern Stars Shine
Chopra then looked at modern players. Suryakumar Yadav came ahead of Dhoni. He is fast, hits big, and can change the game in a few overs.
Chopra also picked Virat Kohli as India’s best-ever T20I batter. Kohli’s smart shots and many match-winning innings make him a legend. Hardik Pandya got praise too. Chopra said Hardik is a “clutch player” because he can perform in important moments.
Secret Plan to Trap Sahibzada Farhan
Chopra shared a plan for India before their T20 World Cup 2026 match against Pakistan in Colombo on February 15.
He said Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan is in very good form. He scored 120 runs in two innings at a strike rate of 166.67.
But Chopra noticed a weakness. Farhan rarely scores in the point and third-man region. He also does not play drives to cover or cuts well. Chopra advised Indian bowlers to bowl slightly wider in that area and build pressure. This could force Farhan to make mistakes in other areas.
Chopra said, “Farhan goes quiet in that area. He hits well on the leg side but not at point or third man. Bowl there and make him take risks.”
