Watch: Glenn Phillips' outrageous fielding shocks Rohit Sharma during IND vs NZ 1st ODI
Standing at the point region to right-handed batter, Virat Kohli, Glenn Phillips put up an outregeaous fielding which shocked Rohit Sharma during the opening ODI against India in Vadodara.

It was one of those games when Glenn Phillips mentioned that he decided not to do wicket-keeping because he gets bored standing at the same position throughout the 50 overs. There are not many fielders in world cricket for whom the crowd turned up only to see them field in the ground. Glenn Phillips is part of that rare list.
He was standing at the point region to the Indian right-handed batter, Shubman Gill, when he hit the short ball from Kyle Jamieson with full force. Most would have seen the flying over the head, while a few could have at least tried to put a hand on it. Neither was the case with Philips, who jumped outrageously in the air and had almost grabbed the catch.

Even while he was in the air and realized that he had fumbled the catch, he tried to take it on the second attempt. Shubman Gill dropped his jaw while Rohi Sharma, standing at the other end, couldn’t believe his eyes and looked under the helmet.

Earlier in the game, New Zealand posted 300 in 50 allotted overs for the loss of eight wickets, thanks to the 117-run opening partnership from Devon Conway and Henry Nicholas, both of whom celebrated their respective half-centuries and made India pay after spending a good amount of overs in the field.

Later, it was Daryl Mitchell, who offered them the late fire and power with the bat to take them through to the 300-run mark in the innings. Towards the back end of the innings, the Indian pacers used their pace variations beautifully as Mohammad Siraj was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets for 40 runs, while Harshit Rana was equally excellent.
Both Indian openers were watchful in the chase, just like the K opening partnership before Rohit Sharma decided to break the shackles with some thumping success into the stands. But he was finally dismissed trying to go over the mid-off region as he couldn’t control the shot.
Brief Scores: India 81/1 (Virat Kohli 28*, Kyle Jamieson 1/25) vs New Zealand 300/8 (Daryl Mitchell 84, Henry Nicholas 62, Mohammad Siraj 2/40)
