It has always been the case in the last five editions of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Whenever the tournament ends, the speculations remain whether the former captain of India and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), MS Dhoni, would be back for the following edition of the competition. He led the side in 2025 in Ruturaj Gaikwad’s absence, but he couldn’t save them from ending at the bottom of the points table.

MS Dhoni claimed that the medical staff had already given me the green light to play the game, but the entire issue is with his body, which might not cope for another five seasons of the tournament. He, however, reckoned that Gaikwad’s return in the next season would boost their batting.

‘I just got a tick mark for the next five years, I can play cricket. But the only catch is that the doc only gave clearance for the eyesight. For the body, he didn’t give any clearance. I can’t play cricket with only my eyes, you know.Dhoni expressed during an event in Chennai.

The Ranchi-born admitted that the franchise was below-par over the last two seasons, and felt it was important for the side to identify the areas of concern. However, he reckoned that the upcoming mini-auction would play a vital role for the Yellow franchise to make a strong comeback.

‘We were like, 'Okay, there are some shortcomings. ' But first, we needed to exactly figure out what the shortcomings were and then look at solutions. I feel more often than not, we have been able to figure out what exactly went wrong. In sports, you know you can have a very good time, and at the same time, there will be periods when you won't be performing well.He revealed.

‘We do talk about the processes. But at the same time, we do want the result to come to our side. Last year, it wasn't there. But looking ahead, we will try to sort out most of the things, and we will hopefully be at our best.MS Dhoni concluded.
