As excitement builds for the 2023 Cricket World Cup, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided to take the tournament’s treasured trophy on a tour like no other.

The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 trophy tour got off to a grand start, taking off 120,000 feet above the ground before landing at the world’s largest cricket stadium, India’s Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

This feat was accomplished using a custom-made World Cup Trophy attached to a  stratospheric globe. Stunning images of famous silver objects at the edge of Earth’s atmosphere have been captured using 4K cameras. The balloon passed through more than 99.5% of the Earth’s atmosphere with a temperature of -65 °C at peak altitude.

Space Flight sets the stage for the biggest-ever ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup cartoon, which begins with the World Cup in India in October and November. Through an extensive activation program, the Trophy Tour aims to give a million fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with the award-winning silverware ahead of the highly anticipated global event, which will visit 18 countries on five continents.

Set to embark on its first full-scale global tour since 2019, the Trophy Tour recreates the sense of occasion and carnival-like atmosphere synonymous with the Cricket World Cup through a series of extensive activations in some of the world’s most iconic destinations.
