Watch: Indian players visit Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak Temple ahead of IND vs USA T20 World Cup 2026 clash
The Indian side, including the two spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy, visited the Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai ahead of their opening clash against United States of America of the T20 World Cup 2026.

Ahead of their opening clash of the T20 World Cup 2026 against the United States of America (USA) at the Wankhede Stadium, the Indian players visit Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak Temple, as they will take on the USA side at the Wankhede Stadium under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav and will aim to defend the title they won in 2024 under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy.
The video shows the premier spinners of the blue brigade, Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav, taking blessings in the temple ahead of the game, along with the fielding coach. A few days ago, when the Indian side was busy in their warm-up clash against South Africa at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai, their head coach, Gautam Gambhir, also visited the same temple.
It has been the trend of the Indian side for the last few years, where most of their players visit the temple of the country they are visiting to play. The same happened even during the five-match T20I series against New Zealand at home before the World Cup.

After the USA clash, India will travel to the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi for the second fixture against Namibia before going to Colombo for the controversial clash against Pakistan, who have already forfeited the contest, to which Suryakumar Yadav has given his view.

“Mindset is pretty clear. We haven't said no to the game. The ICC has decided on a neutral venue. We are going to Colombo for sure. We don't know about others. We will play the match on the 7th and go to Colombo then. Every team is good here, so it's important to play good cricket. Very relieved to get back to form and score runs. We want to control the way we want to play; dew is not in our control.” Sky expressed in the press conference.
India will be without Jasprit Bumrah for the opening clash against the USA as Mohammad Siraj, coming as a replacement for Harshit Rana in the squad, is likely to be part of the playing eleven.
