During the T20 World Cup 2026 fixture between India and Pakistan at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, the question was whether India could continue their onslaught batting on the slow surface of the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. After the dismissal of Abhishek Sharma in the very first over of the game, it was important for India to make a strong start inside the power play.

On the very first ball of the second over against Shaheen Shah Afridi, Ishan Kishan went into his back foot and pulled the short delivery into the stands as it was dug in a short delivery as the left-handed batter was in a good position by transferring his weight back and nailed the big shot into the crowd.

Kishan continued his aggressive batting against the opposition spinners as Abrad Ahmed with a massive first-ball six as the delivery was on the lakeside and the batter swept it hard over the backward square region over the ropes. He started the 7th over with three successive boundaries.

The left-hander scored his 50 in just 27 deliveries, which became the third-fastest half-century in an India-Pakistan game in terms of deliveries during the shortest format of the game. He was finally dismissed for 77 runs in 40 deliveries with the help of ten boundaries and three sixes at a strike rate of 192.50.

Tilak Verma, who struggled in the initial overs of the innings, started to get back his form as he timed a perfect 6 over the extra cover against the left arm spin of Muhammad Nawaz as India crossed the 100-run mark in 12 overs. They just need to score over 180 and defend it.

Brief Scores: India 126/4 (Ishan Kishan 77, Saim Ayub 3/24) vs Pakistan.
