One of the most experienced bowlers of the United Arab Emirates is right-arm pacer Junaid Siddiquie, who celebrated his first five-wicket haul in the T20 World Cups as he got the milestone against Canada at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi during the afternoon clash, which they went on to win in the decent chase.

In his very first over, Junaid Siddiquie got the wicket off Dilpreet Bajwa as the batter looked to take the aerial route and failed to clear the fence and was caught at mid-off. On the very first delivery of his second over, Junaid sent back Yuvraj Samra for five runs as the left-handed batter also made the same mistake of taking the aerial route and ended up in the hands of the mid-on fielder.

Coming back into the 18th over of the innings, Siddiquie picked up the massive wicket of Harsh Thaker, who got 50 runs. It was a slower delivery that held on the pitch as the batter missed the lofted drive and was caught by the cover fielder.

On the very first delivery of his last over, Siddiquie got the wicket of Shreyas Movva, as it was another awkward-looking forehand pull shot from the batter as he picked up the cover fielder. On the penultimate delivery of the innings, he completed his five-wicket haul with the dismissal of Saad bin Zafar.

“The pitch was good and you know, we worked with our coaches, you know, how to bowl in these conditions. I came for, you know, I wanted to hit on the, you know, hard length areas as well. I want to, you know, try and make use of some of these slower balls.” Siddique expressed after winning the player of the match award.
