Bangladesh lost their third wicket inside the powerplay, while Kamil Mishara stunned with a successful long-range throw that directly hit the wicket to dismiss Towhid Hridoy.
Sri Lanka are the last team to start the eight-team Asia Cup 2025 journey, as they chose to field first after winning the toss against Bangladesh on Saturday (September 13) at Abu Dhabi. Bangladesh openers failed to open their accounts, as the Sri Lankan pacers started the tournament with a wicket maiden in the first two overs of the match.
At the end of the powerplay, Bangladesh were struggling at 30/3, as the last wicket was a brilliant run-out that stunned the cricket fans. Bangladesh skipper Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy were busy building up the innings after the opening batting collapse. While they were just trying to settle the innings by scoring hard runs, their 11-run partnership was broken in the fifth over.

Kamil Mishara's long-range throw resulted in Towhid Hridoy's stunning dismissal
It was the third ball of the fifth over, when Hridoy played a pull shot to the deep square leg on the short delivery of Nuwan Thushara, and they attempted for the third run after completing the first two runs. Kamil Mishara grabbed the ball from the deep square leg and threw to the bowling end, which hit the stumps while Hridoy was far away from the crease despite his desperate dive.
