Veteran cricketer MS Dhoni was spotted enjoying a helicopter ride ahead of the IPL 2026 season. He will once again play for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Dhoni was seen seated in the helicopter with a few others. He wore a black shirt and sunglasses as the helicopter prepared for takeoff.

The helicopter was an Airbus H160, VT-RGY model. After making sure all passengers were safe and seated comfortably, the staff closed the doors on both sides, and the helicopter took off.

Dhoni Gears Up for IPL 2026

MS Dhoni is famous for his ‘helicopter shot’, which has been copied by many cricketers around the world.

He has started training for IPL 2026. Dhoni was retained by CSK ahead of IPL 2025 for ₹4 crore under the 'uncapped' category. In Ruturaj Gaikwad’s absence, Dhoni even led CSK during the 2025 season. The franchise retained him again for IPL 2026.

Last month, a video of him practicing in the nets went viral. He was seen wearing his iconic yellow pads and batting in the nets.

CSK Looks to Bounce Back

CSK did not have a good IPL 2025 season. Despite Dhoni leading the team, they finished at the bottom of the table, winning just four out of 14 matches. Dhoni scored 196 runs in 13 innings with an average of 24.50, a strike rate of 135.17, and a top score of 30*.

The five-time champions will look to improve and give a stronger performance in IPL 2026.
