The right-handed opening batter of the Karnataka side, Mayank Agarwal, has celebrated a fabulous century under pressure of losing many wickets during the Ranji Trophy 2025/26 final against Jammu and Kashmir in Hubli.

Heading into the Ranji Trophy 2025/26 final at the KSCA Hubli Cricket Ground between Karnataka and Jammu and Kashmir, the pressure was on the latter to put up a strong performance with the bat. But they showed incredible fight and grit for the first seven sessions and put the Karnataka players in the heat for 173.1 overs as they got bundled out for 584 runs in the first innings.
The surface seemed to have changed once the home side made their way into the middle. After the early effects of the roller were vaporized, the Karnataka side kept losing wickets one after another. Agarwal saw Auqib Nabi dismissing the next batters, Karun Nair and Smaran Ravichandran, with two fabulous balls as the Karnataka side was reduced to 57/4 in their first innings with the bat. However, Agarwal seemed to be batting for a different surface with some glorious shots.
Mayank Agarwal notches century in Ranji Trophy 2025/26
Agarwal took several times in his hand against the pacers and used his feet against the spinners to find the gap in the field. The right-handed batter celebrated his 21st century in the game as he already carries an average of more than 43 with the help of 48 half-centuries. He has overall notched up 1488 runs in 36 Test innings with four centuries and six fifties.

Jammu and Kashmir got five half-centuries individually from their scorecard as their captain, Paras Dogra, nailed 70 runs in 166 balls with the help of eight boundaries. Their number three batter, Shubham Pundir, smashed 121 runs, smashing 12 boundaries and a couple of sixes at a strike rate of 48.99.
Agarwal has bagged 120 runs in 184 balls with the help of 17 boundaries at a strike rate of 64.87 as Karnataka lost five wickets as they somehow limped their way to 200 runs in the final session of the third day.
