The fiormer captain and the premier all-rounder of the Afghanistan side, Mohammad Nabi, has attacked the Bangladesh reporter on the controvery of IPL 2026 and Mustafizur Rahman.

The former Afghanistan captain, Mohammad Nabi, has blasted a reporter due to the question surrounding the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 controversy involving the left-arm Bangladesh pacer, Mustafizur Rahman, and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after the BCCI banned the pacer and forced the franchise to release him from their squad.
While a lot has been talked and written about the incident, as one of the Bangladesh reporters asked Nabi to share his view on the controversy, the Afghanistan allrounder is currently playing for the Noakhali Express in the ongoing 2025/26 season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

“Iska merese kya lena dena bhai. Mera Mustafizur se kya kaam hai? Politics me kya kaam hai mera? (What do I have to do with it? How am I related to Mustafizur? I don't have anything to do with politics. I know he is a good bowler, all these things. But the way you are questioning, it's not related to me.” Nabi, who lost his cool, expressed himself in the press conference.
Mohammad Nabi loses cool over Bangladesh reporter
Due to the controversy, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has written two letters to the International Cricket Council on their request to relocate their T20 World Cup 2026 games from India and shift them to Sri Lanka, which is co-hosting the competition, due to security concerns. The ICC has been thinking of its next move regarding the matter.

Bangladesh is currently scheduled to play their first three group-stage clashes of the T20 World Cup at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata against the West Indies, Italy, and England before they move to the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai for the last group stage game against Nepal. They may play a few more games in that country if they qualify for the second round of the competition.
Meanwhile, Nabi is currently featuring for the Noakhali Express in the Bangladesh Premier League as they completed two victories against Hakka and Rangpur in successive games after a disastrous start in the competition.
