Pakistan's former cricketer Mohammad Yousuf has revealed the reasons why the players have failed to perform recently in ICC events and bilateral series as well. Recently, Pakistan lost to India by a huge margin of 61 runs. It was a humiliating defeat and their chances of qualifying for the Super 8 were also jeopardised.

However, they performed well against Namibia and won the game quite comfortably, securing a place in the Super 8 stage. Despite the victory, the legendary batter slammed the players for being 'arrogant' after winning the match against India in 2021. During a podcast, he mentioned how the players have stopped listening to their coaches, which has been a reason behind their downfall in international cricket.

"Unfortunately or fortunately the match which we won against India in 2021 by ten wickets, changed a lot. There are many players who thought no one if better than them and It was quite disrespectful. If the headcoach is talking and you are watching your phone, these things I think started after that match. This is not a good thing for any player," said Mohammad Yousuf in a podcast.

Pakistan beat Namibia to secure place in Super 8 stage

Pakistan have finally secured a place in the Super 8 stage of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026. All credit goes to Sahibzada Farhan, who scored an unbeaten 58-ball century against Namibia, helping Pakistan post 199 runs on the board. He got good support from the other batters, including Shadab Khan and Salman Ali Agha.

They formed partnerships and took Pakistan's total to a defendable one. With this win, they have finally booked a spot in the knockouts and will face England, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka in the Super 8 stage. The top two teams of both groups will reach the semi-finals. The upcoming games are going to be contesting since some of the best teams in the world have qualified for the knockouts.
