Rohit Sharma, the Indian opening batter who has already retired from the longest and shortest format of the game, keeps his eyes only on the upcoming ODI World Cup 2027 in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. And through two successful series against Australia down under and South Africa at home, he has walked in the right director.

The Indian opener was present in the function of Masters Union Gurgaon where he addressed the students of their bad times and how special it would be for them to move on to a new chapter in their life. He also made a hilarious comment of not being a great speaker.

“I am not good at these speeches. I generally keep it very nice and simple inside the changing room and dressing room. What I tell you guys, since I am here, is that it’s a big stage in your career. Moving on to something new and something special is always a good challenge and something everyone should be excited of. There is noting to fear of what lies ahead.” Rohit expressed in a video that went viral around the social media platforms.

Rohit Sharma’s special speech goes viral around internet

Rohit Sharma has overall smashed 11516 runs in 271 innings of the ODI format at an average of a touch over 49 and a strike rate of more than 92 with the help of 33 centuries and 61 half-centuries at the best score of 264 against Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The Mumbai opening batter’s first international series after the Test retirement came against Australia down under. In that series, after a poor knock in the opening clash at the Optus Stadium in Perth, he drilled a fine half-century in the second encounter at Adelaide Oval before celebrating a fine century in the third game at the SCG.

On his return at home against the Proteas, Rohit started the three-match series with a fine half-century in Ranchi before finishing it in style with another such score in Visakhapatnam as they claimed the series by a 3-1 margin.
