The Indian Premier League (IPL) might start on March 28, but the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans will have to wait until their star players take the field on March 30 in Guwahati. The Super Kings will clash against the Rajasthan Royals (RR), and the match will start at 7.30 PM IST. Everyone is anticipating a thrilling encounter between the two teams after the recent trade deal. 

While Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran have come to RR, Sanju Samson has been traded off to CSK. In this season, the fans will get to know whether the trade deal was successful or a waste. Meanwhile, Samson has got solid welcome in the Super Kings camp as he received an award from former skipper MS Dhoni.

For the T20 World Cup heroics, Samson received a special award from MS Dhoni during the CSK Roar'26 event. Dhoni presented special mementoes to the winners during the event, including Shivam Dube, who was also a part of the ICC event. It was because of their performance that the Men in Blue were able to win the final match. 

Samson looked ecstatic while receiving the award since he idolises the former skipper. The right-handed batter has become a part of the team and will be intriguing to watch him play for CSK in the upcoming season. After spending a lot of time with the Rajasthan Royals, Samson has moved to a new franchise, which means that he will have a tough time settling in.

Sanju Samson’s match-winning performances in T20 World Cup 2026

In the T20 World Cup 2026, Sanju Samson's performance was absolutely stunning. He wasn't there in the playing XI initially, but somehow got a chance against Zimbabwe in the Super 8, where he gave a brilliant start to the innings. However, was dismissed on just 26 runs. Post that, he went on to score 97*, 89, and 89 runs and helped India win the finals. 

He performed when it was necessary, and that was important to lift the spirits of the players. Now, he will be expected to do the same for the Super Kings as well, since he might open the innings alongside Ruturaj Gaikwad or Ayush Mhatre. Samson is in form, and now is the time for him to play well and showcase to the world what he is capable of.
