Watch: No handshake between Suryakumar Yadav and Salman Agha in IND vs PAK T20 WC 2026
No handshake took place at the much awaited toss between the Indian captain, Suryakumar Yadav, and the Pakistan captain, Salman Ali Agha, during the T20 World Cup 2-2026 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Before the start of the game between India and Pakistan in the 2026 season of the T20 World Cup at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, the talk of the town was whether India’s captain, Suryakumar Yadav, would shake hands with his opposite number, Salman Ali Agha, at the toss. Sky kept the suspense at the pre-match press conference regarding this decision.
The two captains lined up for the massive toss as the Pakistan captain won the toss and decided to field first on what he called a sticky surface, where they looked to take the early advantage with the moisture in. But the most important part of the toss was that, post his two-minute interview, Agha returned to his dugout after crossing Suryakumar Yadav, who did not offer any handshake.

Suryakumar revealed that India had made two changes in their playing 11 with Abhishek Sharma returning from the stomach infection that kept him out of the 11 for the last game against Namibia in Delhi, as Sanju Samson made way out of the side for this clash, while Kuldeep Yadav replaced the left-arm pacer, Arshdeep Singh.

“We were looking to bat first. We've seen the results here, and we've batted in the last two games and won both games defending, so we don't want to change anything. These games are always very high stakes, but at the same time, you've got to know what you want to do. That's more important. Stay in the present, back your skills.” Sky said at the toss.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has retained its playing 11 that won against the United States of America, as the eyes are on the most talked-about spinner Usman Tariq, whose action will be in focus during the first innings.
