Countless moments, raw emotion. For that moment, India waited for years and years. Finally, under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian women's team won the ICC Women's World Cup 2025. The India women's team won the title by defeating the South Africa women's team in Navi Mumbai.

After the match, the India captain had to face multiple interviews. One of those interviews captured attention from the cricket fans instantly. Normally, in international matches, cricketers have to speak in English. But the November 2, 2025, night was special for all Indian cricket fans, especially for the team that made the dream true. During an interview with former cricketer Anjum Chopra, Harmanpreet Kaur got the opportunity to speak in her own native language, which is Punjabi.

When Kaur started to speak in Punjabi, the raw emotions started to come out from her heart instantly. She thanked the almighty for the moment, probably the best moment of any cricketer's career—winning the ICC World Cup. Kaur felt that because of the struggle of a long period, the team had perhaps grown stronger and helped the team to shape into a stronger and more united side.

Harmanpreet Kaur expressed his feelings in Punjabi language

"I thank God. My family, my country—they prayed day and night. I am very happy that we brought happiness to them," Harmanpreet said.

"You are right. It was a long, long journey. It was quite heartbreaking. At times, it felt like, why us? This is such a good team. I think it was destiny today. The struggle was destined so that we could become stronger. I have to give credit to the team; it was not possible without them."

Cricket fans are well aware of the fact that Chopra and Kaur shared a very close bond with each other. Anjum, during the interview, addressed Harmanpreet as the 'Captan,' which is close to Indian feelings.
