The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar is on a mission to help the team win another trophy, and it was quite evident from his batting today against the Mumbai Indians (MI). In the 20th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Patidar owned Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, making it feel like his own home ground, thrashing the bowlers all around the park.
MI invited RCB to bat first after winning the toss, and their decision backfired instantly when Phil Salt started batting. He slammed 78 off 36 balls, including six boundaries and sixes. From the other end, Virat Kohli stood there to give support, but played with a slow strike rate. He also went past his half-century. However, Patidar became the man of the hour with his incredible batting performance.

Rajat Patidar slams three consecutive sixes off Mayank Markande
RCB skipper Rajat Patidar has been quite impressive in the league ever since he got the captaincy. He has performed at a steady rate, which is pretty good. In today's match, he scored three back-to-back sixes off Mayank Markande and stunned the crowd. Since the match is happening in Mumbai, the crowd wasn't pleased with the sixes.
However, the RCB fans enjoyed the knock as the skipper went past his fifty in no time. He took 17 balls to reach his half-century. He was dismissed on 53 off 20 balls by Mitchell Santner. The skipper hit four boundaries and five sixes throughout his knock. His innings, along with Kohli and Salt's contributions, helped RCB get past 200 runs in today's game.
MI bowlers have not been effective today since RCB batters have wreaked havoc in today's game. The visitors have played quality cricket in this tournament, taking on the bowlers with confidence. The fans are anticipating another trophy for RCB because of their astounding performance in the tournament. They have won two out of three games in the IPL 2026 so far.
