Watch: Ravindra Jadeja's double-wicket over rocks back South Africa during IND vs SA 1st Test
Watch the video where the left-arms spinner of the Indian side, Ravindra Jadeja, rocked back South Africa with double-wicket over during the IND vs SA opening Test at the Eden Gardens.

South Africa looked super confident when they bundled out the home side for 189 runs, which at one point looked to be crossing the 250-run mark quite comfortably. But the challenge was always going to be their batting in the second innings and how they could cope with the opponent spinners.
On the stroke of the tea break on the second ball of the opening Test at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, the Proteas lost their left-handed opening batter, Ryan Rickelton, as Kuldeep Yadav trapped the batter before the stumps, before Ravindra Jadeja joined the party with the wicket of Aiden Markram.

But the biggest change from Jadeja came during the 17th over of the innings when, on the third ball of the over, he dismissed Wiaan Mulder. The right-handed batter couldn’t do anything as the ball, from the good length, leaped over the shoulder of the batter’s bat and took the gloves into the hands of the wicket-keeper batter.

Tony de Zorzi was the new man in the middle. The left-handed batter used his broo on the very first ball and swept it behind the wickets and came back for the second run. However, on the very next delivery, the left-arm spinner had the last laugh as Zorzi walked back to the pavilion.
The South Africa batter tried to work the length delivery from middle and leg into the leg side as it kicked up on the southpaw before taking a little bit of glove and hit the thigh pad to end into the hands of the short leg fielder- Dhruv Jurel. Suddenly, the Proteas found themselves 40/4, with a lead of only 10 runs.
Earlier in the day, Ravindra Jadeja, who was traded to the Rajasthan Royals from the Chennai Super Kings ahead of the IPL 2026, became the fourth all-rounder in Test history to bag the double of 4000 runs & 300 wickets. He is also the second Indian all-rounder to achieve this feat after Kapil Dev.
