The dismissal of Smith occurred during the14th over when he tried to execute a slog sweep shot towards deep midwicket. Rossouw had different plans for the ball which appeared to be heading over the boundary fence.

The Proteas star executed a running catch at the boundary but he discovered his forward speed would take him past the boundary line.
