The timing of this touching moment is especially important as Rohit prepares to lead India in an ODI series of three matches against Australia. He retired from Test cricket in May 2025 and from T20Is after the 2021 T20 World Cup and that brings him back completely to focus on just the 50-over format. after a fitness stint where he lost 10 kilograms , Rohit is now ready to lead India to the ODI format.
