Farhan started by clubbing Bumrah into the crowd for a boundary before whacking the no-ball of the veteran pacer across the line for the same result. In the last over of the power play, the right-handed batter nailed the bowler for another boundary over the infield. He was also able to read Varun Chakravarty to nail the spinner for a six.
When Kuldeep Yadav came into the attack, Saim Ayub contributed with a six on the first ball to release the pressure a little bit before Farhan joined the party and cracked the googly over the long-on fence for a six. On the third ball of the tenth over, against Axar Patel’s left-arm spin, with a six, he celebrated his fifty.
After his wicket, the Salman Ali Agha-led side couldn’t find the same rhythm and timing, but their good running between the wickets and a six to start the over from Mohammed Naaz pushed them to a good score by the end of their allotted 20 overs in the innings. His knock laid the platform for such a huge score on the board.
