The renowned all-time great Bollywood actor, Shah Rukh Khan, has given award to the U19 World Cup 2026 winning captain of the Indian side, Ayush Mhatre, as they beat Englnd in the final in Harare.

In a span of just a few weeks, Ayush Mhatre grabbed the spotlight across the world, having won the U19 World Cup 2026 for India in his leadership as they got the better of England in the final at the Harare Sports Club. At the age of 18 years, the Mumbai batter has already been part of the glorious Mumbai domestic side, along with the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League, and the U-19 WC trophy. 

During the ABP Summit, the U19 WC winning Indian captain gets the award from the Bollywood superstar, Shah Rukh Khan, amidst a massive crowd and cheer. That has been a massive stand from such a youngster, who will learn more in the future regarding the captaincy once he rubs shoulders with the senior members of the side.

Mhatre didn’t contribute massively with the bat in that WC campaign as he ended with only 214 runs in seven innings at an average of 30.57 and a strike rate of 113.22, thanks to three half-centuries, while he clubbed 20 boundaries and 14 sixes in the competition.

Mhatre, however, has been a sensational performer, is List A cricket with 458 runs in seven innings for the Mumbai Indians at an average of 65.42 and a strike rate of 135.50, thanks to one half-century and two centuries at the best score of 181 runs.

Meanwhile, Mhatre creamed 660 runs in 22 innings of first-class cricket at an average of 30 and a strike rate of 74.15, thanks to two centuries and two fifties. In his very first season of the IPL, the right-handed batter grabbed 240 runs in seven innings at a strike rate of 188.97, scoring one half-century at the best score of 94 runs.

In the semifinal of the U19 WC 2026, Mhatre nailed a fine knock of 62 runs against Afghanistan before backing it up with another half-century in the final against England. As the rule of the BCCI goes,
