The second encounter of the T20 World Cup 2026 between West Indies and Scotland at the Eden Gardens was about Shimron Hetmyer, who, post his sensational knock, displayed a fine catch in the outfield, which could end up being the catch of the tournament four weeks later. It happened during the final over of the power play during the second innings.

Shamar Joseph went for a short ball at George Munsey, who couldn’t control the short delivery and pulled it into the leg side. The ball went with speed and nearly went past the rope where Shimron Hetmyer was stationed. He rushed towards the ball and spread his arm to grab a fine air-borne catch to send back the batter for 19 runs.

Hetmyer was smart to time his jump at the right time and also kept the ball in his hand, besides making sure that it won’t pop out of his hand at the time he gets smashed on the floor. The entire team went up to him and celebrated the moment.
