India played South Africa in a warm-up match of the T20 World Cup 2026 yesterday at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The match helped both teams get ready for the main tournament. India batted well and scored a big total. They later won the match by 30 runs under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav.

India Beat South Africa by 30 Runs in Warm-up Match

The Indian cricket team beat South Africa by 30 runs in their T20 World Cup 2026 warm-up match at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Wednesday. India batted first after winning the toss and posted a huge total of 240 for 5 in 20 overs. Ishan Kishan was India’s top scorer with 53 runs off just 20 balls.

India got a fast start as Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan attacked from the beginning. Kishan scored his half-century in just 20 balls and then retired out with the score at 80/1 in 5.4 overs. Abhishek Sharma retired hurt a few overs later. Tilak Varma and captain Suryakumar Yadav then added 66 runs quickly to keep the pressure on South Africa. Tilak scored 45 off 19 balls before getting out, while Suryakumar also departed soon after.

Axar Patel and Rinku Singh added useful runs to take India past 200. Rinku got out in the 18th over, after which Hardik Pandya smashed 30 runs off just 10 balls. India finished with a strong total of 240/5.

South Africa Fall Short Despite Fighting Chase

South Africa’s chase started badly as Arshdeep Singh removed George Linde for a duck in the first over. Aiden Markram and Ryan Rickelton then added 65 runs to steady the innings. Markram retired at the end of the power play.

India struck back quickly as Dewald Brevis and Rickelton got out in quick time, leaving South Africa at 96/4 in the 10th over. David Miller failed to score big and was dismissed in the 11th over. Although Tristan Stubbs, Jason Smith and Marco Jansen added some runs, South Africa could not reach the target and finished at 210/7.

India will now start their T20 World Cup 2026 campaign against the USA on Saturday.
