[WATCH] Suryakumar Yadav recreates Rohit Sharma's T20 World Cup 2024 celebration after Asia Cup 2025 win

India didn’t take the Asia Cup 2025 title after beating Pakistan, under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, as they won the clash by five wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. This move came after the president of the ACC and the PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, didn’t take a back step from giving the title. 

Suryakaumar Yadav used an invisible trophy to repeat the celebration from Rohit Sharma’s T20 World Cup 2024 final at the Kensington Oval in Barbados against South Africa. He came with the unseen trophy to the players, just like Rohit did last year.

“This is one thing which I have never seen since I started playing cricket, since I have started following cricket, that a champion team is denied a trophy. That was a hard-earned one; it’s not like we got it easily. It was a hard-earned tournament. We have been here since the 4th, and played two back-to-back good games. I feel we deserved it.” Sky expressed its opinion on the trophy handover incident at the press conference.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which has been rewarded INR 21 crore as the winning cheque of the Asia Cup for the Indian side, has revealed its emotions through the secretary, Devajit Saikia, in the press conference.

“We have decided not to take the Asia Cup 2025 trophy from the ACC chairman, who happens to be one of the main leaders of Pakistan. So we decided not to take it from him. But that does not mean that the gentleman will take away the trophy with him, along with the medals.” Saikia expressed in the press conference.

“So it is very unfortunate, and we hope that the trophy and the medals will be returned to India as soon as possible. There is an ICC conference in November in Dubai. In the next conference, we are going to launch a very serious and very strong protest against the act of the ACC chairperson.” The BCCI secretary as India chased down the target of 147 runs by five wickets, thanks to Tilak Varma’s unbeaten 69 runs.
