Suryakumar Yadav's love message to Afghanistan

Two days before the start of the T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka, all the captains present in India met in Mumbai for the Captain’s press conference to share their views on the tournament and their preparation for the campaign as the Suryakumar Yadav-led side start as the defending champions, having won the previous title against South Africa.

A video has gone viral on the social media platforms where there is a playful, like satirical, reference circulating regarding ‘A happy Valentine’s Day’ message from Suryakumar Yadav to Afghanistan’s captain, Rashid Khan. This appears to be light hearted banter between the two cricket stars who share a lot of time in the field together especially during the Indian female league.

Outside the press meet, Rashid was seen to be bowling at Sky in a friendly game as that video also went viral on the social media platforms. India will begin their campaign on February 07 in the evening at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai against the United States of America (USA).

Sky was clear on its stance for the upcoming clash against Pakistan which has been forfeited by the Pakistan Cricket Board as it’s currently scheduled to take place on February 15 at the R. Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Colombo.

Watch the video here:

“Mindset is pretty clear. We haven't said no to the game. The ICC has decided on a neutral venue. We are going to Colombo for sure. We don't know about others. We will play the match on the 7th and go to Colombo then. Every team is good here, so it's important to play good cricket.” Sky expressed in the press-meet.

“Their decision is not in my control. We played them 3 times in the Asia Cup; we won and were happy. If we get the opportunity to play in Colombo, we will play them. It's not my call. If the decision is coming from the government, then I can't do anything about it. The fixtures are ready, and we will go to Colombo.” The Indian captain addressed.
